Club officers Monica, Seun, Susana, and Hailey attended the District 31 ToastMasters Leaders Institute (TLI) at State Street on August 16th, 2017. TLI is an opportunity for club officers in the Greater Boston Area to network and stay abreast with new TM practices. The TLI focuses on collaborating new club ideas and identifying solutions for challenges a club may be facing.
For more information on the Toastmaster Leaders Institute visit the District 31 TLI webpage.
Boston Speech Party was victorious at the May 12th District 31 Spring Conference thanks to member, Alexander Becerra! Against a strong group of 7 other speakers, he placed 2nd in the Table Topics Contest!
Well done and congratulations, Alexander!!
The question at hand was: “Young people want to be older while old people wish to be young; what do you think is the ideal age?” Alexander’s answer included a strong opening, some humor, and a good summary. He showed his genuine passion for life and connecting with his audience.
If you are eager to know Alexander’s response, feel free to ask him at one of our upcoming meetings!
Alexander Becerra continued his winning streak in the Table Topics contest. After winning the Club Contest and the Area 36 Contest, he once again came out on top as the Division C winner. Next up is the District 31 level where Alexander will be competing against the best from more than 200 clubs.
The competition is part of the two-day District 31 Conference on May 12th and 13th. Come out to support Alexander on Friday and/or enjoy the full event!
